Boswell Book Festival, the annual book-filled treat at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, took place over this Bank Holiday Weekend and was a great success thanks to the meticulous planning by Caroline Knox and her team who run the festival. Authors and readers alike enjoyed the glorious setting of Dumfries House and its stunning gardens with events both in the house and in tented venues around. Ayrshire might have been a little cooler than the rest of the UK on Saturday but the sun shone on all who visited Dumfries House and the welcome was certainly very warm. A good time was had by all.
A few of the Festival highlights: Dame Judy Dench; Andrew O’Hagan; Candia McWilliam; Alan Taylor; Alexander McCall Smith; Angus Roxburgh; Neal Ascherson; Allan Little; Matthew Parris; Cardinal Vincent Nichols; Jackie Kay;Judy Murray; Robin Yassin-Kassab; Tony Singh; Struan Stevenson; Maggie O’Farrell; Anthony Horowitz; Sally Magnusson; Eilidh Muldoon; Nicola Davies.
