Iain Bamforth

Iain Bamforth has worked as a doctor in the American Hospital of Paris and the Australian outback, as urban and rural practitioner, and more recently in community health projects in south-east Asia. He has published five collections of poetry, as well as a collection of essays on European intellectual history, The Good European. His most recent book, A Doctor’s Dictionary: Writings on Culture and Medicine, is reviewed in this issue of the SRB. He lives in Strasbourg.
